Yard Ruts - A Matter of Integrity
I was driving my grandchildren to school early one snowy morning. As we came to a sharp bend in the road, suddenly a car appeared from the other direction. Realizing my vehicle was on a sheet of ice and would probably slide into the oncoming car, I steered into a front yard.
Once I backed out of the yard, I noticed deep ruts in the snow-covered grass. After a few days of not seeing any sign of anyone being home, I decided to pull in the driveway. It was then I noticed a Christian symbol in their yard.
After ringing the doorbell and waiting, a woman came to the door. I asked to speak to her husband and she went to apparently wake him up. I asked if he had noticed the ruts in his lawn. He said he hadn’t. I explained what happened and offered to pay for the damage. He responded, “No need to do that; it’s not a big deal.” I replied, “It is a big deal to me. I am a Christian and know the Lord wants me to do this.” He then took the money and thanked me.
It may not seem like a big deal to some people, but to the Lord it is a matter of integrity.
