Walk As A Prince

The destiny of believers in Jesus Christ is to rule and reign with Him throughout eternity. Considering this high calling of serving as princes under the KING of Kings, it is imperative that our words, attitudes, and actions resemble His. Princes in God's Kingdom should be a reflection of their LORD.

Recently, while taking part in a military memorial service, I sat between two dignitaries. They were very complimentary of the words I spoke and friendly afterwards. However, what I want to emphasize here is that they handled themselves with dignity -- at least in public. There is just something different about dignitaries and royalty and the way they carry themselves. How much more should we, who are "joint heirs" with the very Son of God, carry ourselves with dignity in both our public and private lives. We should never be a reproach to His name, but always conduct ourselves in a decent and respectable manner.

Just as descendants of a reigning king are prepared for their royal positions, so must believers begin on this side of eternity to prepare for their royal positions which will assuredly become a reality. The following qualities and attributes should begin to be manifest in our words, attitudes, and behavior: dignity, integrity, righteousness, self-control, courage, compassion, forgiveness, humility, gentleness, generosity, and kindness.

Always remember that as Christians, we have the highest calling. No matter what our position in this life, we can hold our heads high because one day we will be dignitaries serving as princes and priests who represent the KING and LORD of the universe for all eternity.

You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light. (1 Peter 2:9)
